Happy Halloween

Baker loves his BAT COSTUME and was ready to Trick-or-Treat at 6:30 a.m. today.

We decorated/carved pumpkins yesterday. Baker preferred the "Mr. Potato Head" approach - but he was very impressed when he saw the carved pumpkin glowing in the window last night.

Pride and Joy

Happy 39th Birthday Daddy!

In keeping with our annual tradition, Kylee and I made carrot cake for Kevin's birthday. It is a LABOR of love but always beautiful and so delicious.

Tulsa Run

The day after celebrating his 39th birthday, Kevin ran in the Tulsa Run. Following are pics from the race. (Note to self: Do not ask James George to photograph family moments in the future.) Kevin's mom was in town and we all had fun cheering and holding signs. BIG WEEKEND. We're still recovering. Next up for Kevin -- the Route 66 half marathon on Sunday, Nov. 16th. I'm not sure how I can top the sandwich board (pic below) - suggestions are welcome!

Asbury

We joined our church on Sunday...here's our official pic for the newsletter. Is it me, or does Baker look at least four years old?!

Work in Progress

This is the current condition of our powder room. When we moved in I knew we would eventually remove the wallpaper (duh?!) but this project, like so many others, was on a very long to-do list. While cleaning the floor last week one of the tiles came loose and I noticed the fantastic original tile underneath. I couldn't resist, so I ripped up another tile then another...and so on. And now my bathroom looks like this. At first glance, I know this seems like a small "home improvement" project. But it is ridiculously difficult and time consuming to remove the glue underneath each tile. Did I mention that it is time consuming? And awful? I've set a "tile removal deadline" of Oct. 24. (This also happens to be Kevin's birthday. Perhaps I can make a cake in the shape of a toilet? How festive!) I'll tackle the walls next. Then the fixtures. To be continued...

Pumpkin Patch

Kristen and I took the kids to Pumpkin Town (81st and Mingo) Friday afternoon. She found these cute clothes online at CWD Kids. Naturally, our children were the best dressed (not necessarily the best behaved) but certainly the best dressed little people at the pumpkin patch.
(Below) We had high hopes of a cute group photo, but this was the best I could do. Please note JH's knees...little bruiser...

(Below) I took this pic of Baker before we left. I was afraid of how the shirt might look after a 30-minute car ride, snacks, etc.

Orange Avenger

Baker has discovered the joy of dressing up. He likes the cape and do-rag combo.

Baker's Mural

Diane (Mrs. D) painted Baker's mural today and we are so IN LOVE with it. The giraffe is even more beautiful in person. Initially, I had a concept for the mural but after we talked this morning, I turned it over to Diane and trusted her vision...and viola! Perfection!! Thank you, thank you Diane.
