Boys

The weather dropped to 90 (woo hoo!) so I thought we should go to the park to celebrate. Is it me, or does Baker look a little warm?
There is no telling what these two were talking/laughing about...

School is Back in Session

Mother's Day Out started today. Children were crying and carrying on...and this is what Baker did (see photo below). He sat down, found some cars, started playing and was completely unfazed when I left. We've had six weeks of non-stop togetherness and I guess he was ready for a break. I suppose that goes for me too...the only difference is that I actually missed him while he was away.

Happy Birthday Nonnie!

Baker and I squeezed in an end-of-summer trip before school begins and before we begin painting, packing and moving into our new house. We went to Paris to celebrate my mother's birthday. (My mother is "Nonnie" in case you missed that detail in previous blog entries.) Shona and I hosted a luncheon for the birthday girl and 12 of her friends today. Big success! She and Baker color coordinated (which I thought was fabulous) and I was determined to get a cute picture. Baker was not cooperative -- but whatever. The pictures are cute in spite of his two-year-old attitude. They were taken in Shona's backyard. Baker fed the fish in the Koi pond about fifteen times before we left today. Here's hoping they're not floating tomorrow morning...and if they are, I'm blaming it on global warming.
This is what a disgruntled muse looks like.
This is my Southern Living moment of the week.

Ice Cream Sunday

We celebrated the end of summer by having ice cream sundaes today. Baker branched out and had white chocolate chips, chocolate sauce and sprinkles on his three scoops of ice cream. He's now running laps around the house...go figure. Viva la Blue Bell!

Big Cedar Cont.

This slideshow summarizes our trip...lots of family time. We're home now and Baker is having withdrawals from lack of attention.

Wheeeee!

This is the first of several posts about our recent trip to Big Cedar. The weather was cold (I'm not exaggerating) so we used the indoor pool instead of the other outdoor pools on the property. I was a little disappointed but Baker didn't care. He walked in our room after we checked in and said "I AM SO EXCITED!" And with that -- I decided not dwell on the negative. Back to the story about the pool (and the video below)...there was a slide and Baker LOVED IT. The first time Baker went down he wasn't wearing a life jacket and we were almost arrested for child endangerment. The guy helping Baker is not a DHS worker, he is Kevin's brother Tim.

If You're Happy and You Know it...

For those with untrained ears...the "nuh nuh nuh" verse translates into: "If you're happy and you know it then your face will surely show it..."

Locks of Love

I know it's time for a haircut...but I just can't bring myself to do it.

Shape Magazine

Amber Valletta (cover model) works out at our gym. Perhaps I should hire her trainer...or at the very least buy a bikini like this one and pretend...

New House

We have a contract on this house. That is my very guarded way of saying, "WE'RE BUYING A NEW HOUSE AND I AM SO EXCITED I CAN BARELY SLEEP!" If you know of anyone looking for a bungalow in Midtown we have one FOR SALE. Come see us this fall. We'll be peeling grasscloth wallpaper and eating ramen noodles. We hope to upgrade to Mac 'n Cheese after we sell the house.

Birthday Wishes

I love that Baker and James Henry are trying their best to get in on the candle action... After we came home I could still hear Baker singing "Happy Birthday Annabel" as he played in his room.
