Project Apartment Transformation.
We started with a blank canvas (and a great view!). Then added a couch and two tables from Ikea. We ordered a chair, more tables and a thick, shaggy rug. We made a quick trip to Ikea for accessories...and slowly, slowly the apartment is becoming a home away from home.
More pics to come as the apartment evolves. Don't judge me just yet...I'm going to learn to drive in the city for the sole purpose of hauling home lots of loot!
I almost forgot! We now have a television console (is that the right word?). Pics of that when we make our next trip to Chicago.

Exploring Old Town
I fell in love with Old Town while exploring the neighborhood during the Old Town Art Fair. A friend from Kevin's office hosted an open house - very fun! Baker made a new friend. Hope to schedule a zoo playdate with him when we're back in the city in July. Until then...a visual tour follows. Enjoy!
Kevin found a cigar store. B loved the statues in front of the store.
Stoop...
Dream home...(note the dog in the window. B thought it was a lamb!)
Juried art show. Great stuff from artists all over the US.
Saw these teeny tiny cars on our way to the train. So cute! The blue one had handlebars instead of a steering wheel.

Lake Michigan
We went to Evanston last Sunday. We had lunch with the Katan's at their house (great neighborhood and charming house!). Baker loved playing with their three boys - especially Rohan and Keiran (twins! age 6). After lunch Matt showed us around Evanston and we ended up at their neighborhood beach. Rohan and B were supposed to get their feet wet (the water was like ice) but ended up getting completely soaked. I can't believe how beautiful the beaches are. Chicago is growing on me...
