Happy Birthday Daddy!

Baker wanted to create a special blog to celebrate his Daddy's birthday -- he even art directed the photo shoot! Baker said that his Daddy is the best ever and that he deserves to have a Happy Birthday - and MANY, MANY more.

Trains and New T-Shirts

Baker played with a new train set today. The wooden set is very cute and best of all it does not include batteries! Baker was very excited and loved making the train go in circles around the track. He narrated with "choo choo" noises. It was very cute... He's wearing his rock-n-roll Statue of Liberty shirt in this photo. His Auntie Anita bought it for him on our trip to NYC. He loves the shirt -- but of course, he loves Anita so much more....

Kebra pretending to be Kylee.

This is kylee. I'm blogging because I'm bored. I'm very excited about these fantastic photos that Kebra took of me. :( She is a genius with the camera. I mean that.

Halloween - Dress Rehearsal

It's October 10th -- Cody and Emily's 21st birthdays -- and a perfect day for a Halloween dress rehearsal. Elmo was an obvious choice for this year's costume. As you can see in the photos, Baker was very proud of his snazzy getup. He stared at himself in the mirror in absolute wonder - pointing and saying, "Elmo! Elmo!" I was afraid Baker was going to protest when we took Elmo "off." He actually looked a little relieved - he was burning up in there.

We have my hairdresser to thank for the costume. I mentioned that I couldn't find a 3T Elmo and she just happened to have one leftover from one of her girls. Voila! One more reason to keep spending money at Dead Swanky.

By the way...Happy Bday to Cody and Emily...and Happy 1st Anniversary on Oct. 21 (in case I forget to mention that later...)

NYC Trip - Becca's Bday Extravaganza!

In honor of Becca's birthday, we took a girls' trip to New York! We were a group of seven. (Yes, seven!) We had a great time...too many fun and fabulous things to blog about so I'll just rattle off the highlights (in no particular order): SHOPPING, found a cute kid's store named YOYA, Zara, lunch at Bluewater Grill, went to a breathtaking show called Spring Awakening -- so incredible -- and probably the highlight of the trip, drinks at the Mandarin, drinks at the Gramercy Park Hotel, dinner at Perilla, brunch at Pastis...
We didn't take enough photos and most of them include someone laughing or someone with a head cut off...go figure. Becca was a sweet and gracious birthday girl. She is a blessing to all of us and very loved - especially on her birthday.

Elmo and Olive

Question: Is there anything cuter than a clean baby in pajamas?
(See below for answer...)Answer: A clean baby wearing pajamas and his new ELMO slippers!!!!
Yes, I am the mother that shops at Wal-Mart and actually buys the slippers. How could I resist when Baker spotted the slippers and went crazy for them?! More fun with Elmo...

Earlier in the day Kevin took Baker to a flag football game. Baker had so much fun playing with his daddy at the game and again at home. I've heard about it all day..."Daddy! Daddy!" So sweet... We put Olive on her leash and Baker had lots of fun walking her around the driveway. He really loves the dogs. He says "King" very well. "Olive" sounds more like "Abby" but we know what he means and I think Olive does too. She doesn't seem to mind.
I'm trying to help Baker say "yes, mam" instead of "yeah" or "yep." This is proving to be a challenge, however, we're making progress. Today he said, "yes man." Close enough. And adorable.

Tulsa

We went to Tulsa this weekend. It was nice to spend time with Kylee and reconnect with friends in town. We ate dinner Friday night at Hideaway Pizza (one of our favorite places in Tulsa) and spent the night at the Embassy Suites. Baker loved walking around the hotel and playing in the fountain. He did not love sleeping in his pack-and-play. So he spent the night in our bed and proceeded to kick (in circles) all night. He was restless and HOT. And BUSY - even in his sleep. I always talk about wishing for a time when Baker will want to crawl in our bed at night...based on last night, I may be rethinking that... Okay - not really. Lost my head for a minute. We met Dan, Claudine and Sarah for lunch today at Cafe Ole (another fav) then went to their new house to check it out. Baker was enamoured of Sarah. She is in 4th grade and so sweet. Such a little lady.

Sarah took this photo of Baker and me. :-)
